The Future-Proof Franchise Opportunity
Preparing children for tomorrow’s workplace, and helping build entrepreneurs a financial future.
Do I need any previous experience with teaching, IT, or engineering to be a Level UP Franchise Owner?
Not necessarily. Since our Franchise Owners won’t actually be the ones teaching lessons to Level UP students, advanced STEM-based or instructional experience is not required. However, we find that our most successful Franchise Owners have a natural love and passion for technology, and are able to pass that excitement on to their customers.
How does Level UP stay up-to-speed with the latest STEM concepts for instruction?
All Level UP Directors are certified by STEM.org to ensure that they are up to date on all of the latest STEM curriculum and standards. Additionally, we update our curriculum every 6 months, and our classes are mapped and aligned to a range of international curricula, including United States, Canada, UK, Australia, and International Baccalaureate. This helps us be sure that we are teaching the most state-of-the-art concepts and programs available at all times.
How many courses are offered at a Level UP Learning Center?
With over 150 different courses, Level UP offers more options to appeal to a wider range of students than any other STEM franchise. Our closest competitor offers 40 courses at most. Additionally, we are the only STEM franchise that offers all of the following in one place: 3D printing, Roblox, Minecraft, Robotics, Fortnite, Scratch, Kodu, and both Lego and non-Lego based programs, just to name a few.
Who is your target consumer audience?
Experience has shown us that people who are most likely to enroll their children in a Level UP Kids program may share some or all of the following demographics and psychographics:
- Parents age 35-55
- Household income $75,000+ per year
- Believe that education is the key to a better future, and that knowledge of computer science is the key to success in the most lucrative careers
- Both parents in the household work
- Child or children within the ages of 8 to 18 years old
- Capable of transporting children to the Learning Center weekly
- Live 20-30 minutes driving to the Learning Center
- Committed to the positive development of their children
- Medium-to-highly educated
- Competitive or concerned about their children relative to other children the same age
- Read publications such as Parents Magazine, children’s directories, community websites and blogs
- Go to stores/places that support children’s development
- Participate in other children’s activities e.g. music classes, soccer, karate, ballet etc.
How many current locations does Level UP have?
We have 5 locations open in Central Surrey, BC, South Surrey/Whiterock BC, Burnaby, BC, Guelph, ON, and Toronto Beaches, ON with additional locations awarded in Trinidad, Malaysia, and Port Coquitlam, BC.
How long does it take to open a Level UP Learning Center after being awarded a franchise?
Opening a brick-and-mortar Level UP Learning Center location typically takes between 3-6 months for Franchise Owners once an agreement is signed. However, we encourage Owners to be involved in the community and grow their customer base through community demos, free classes, and on-the-go partnerships during the ramp-up time so they can start generating revenue more quickly.
I’m looking for a franchise opportunity that allows me to be a semi-absentee owner. Does Level UP allow semi-passive ownership?
We prefer our Franchise Owners to start as Owner-Operators before transitioning to semi-absentee ownership. However, we will consider the right semi-absentee or absentee owner if they have an operating partner in place.
Does Level UP offer real-world opportunities for students who wish to advance their careers in the IT field?
In addition to our curriculum of engaging STEM-based courses, Level UP offers an internship program for students who not only wish to enhance their college applications, but also want to build relevant work experience in their desired field. Students will leave with a portfolio of their work that can be used to demonstrate their knowledge to colleges or potential employers. None of our competitors deliver a similar program that can directly correlate to a student’s future success.
Can students enroll in classes from different career path curricula, or must they stick with one career path once they’ve chosen?
Our sole mission at Level UP is to effectively educate children and teens on the real IT and computer science skills they will need for future career success. We recognize that a child can be just as intrigued by one aspect of STEM education as another, and encourage our students to take courses across all four of our available career path curricula. While each career path is well-stocked with approximately four years’ worth of course content, we recognize that interest and excitement is often the most powerful educational tool, and urge students at Level UP to explore without limitations.
